Connecting to Ford SYNC® 3

Ready to “Sync my ride” and have Ford SYNC® 3 at the ready? Once connected, you’ll be able to make calls and more from your vehicle. To begin, make sure you’re parked, that your phone is on, and that your vehicle is started. Here’s how to connect to Ford Ford SYNC® 3:

Activate Bluetooth® on your phone and make sure that your phone is discoverable.
On your vehicle’s SYNC® 3 touchscreen interface, press “Add Device.”
Next, scan for devices on your smartphone until SYNC® pops up as an option.
Confirm that the PIN on your phone matches the PIN on the screen. Otherwise, enter the PIN displayed on your phone.
SYNC® will indicate that the pairing is successful.
SYNC® then displays 911 Assist status, and you can decide whether to turn the feature on or off (this feature will automatically call emergency personnel in the event of a crash). You can also opt-in or out of automatic contact downloads.
Press the “Finish” button once you’ve confirmed these options.
